InspectCam Pro · coming soon

Every job photo filed, stamped and ready to send

By , developer of InspectCam · Published · Last updated

Pro turns the camera into a record of the job. Photos file into the job you're on, carry the date, time and place they were taken, and build into a PDF report under your company name. Your crew works on the same jobs from their own Android phones, and your subcontractors send photos in without installing anything. Pro is coming soon to InspectCam on Android.

The free app solves one problem: seeing into dark, tight places with the light already on. Pro solves the next one. Once the photos are taken, they have to be found again, matched to the right address, explained to a client and kept where the rest of the team can get at them. Today most of that lives in a camera roll, a text thread and somebody's memory.

Pro keeps the camera you already know, with the light already on, and adds everything that happens after the shutter.

Every photo lands in the right job

Pick the job you're on, and every photo and video you take files straight into it. Each job keeps its client, address, job type and notes on one short card, and the jobs list shows the most recently updated job first, with search. Give each job a status (New, In progress, statuses of your own, Completed) and mark it completed with one tap.

When and where, on every shot

Photos and videos you take carry the date, time, street address and GPS coordinates in one thin line along the bottom, and the location is written into the file as well. If you'd rather not share your location, the stamp shows the date and time only, and the app tells you why. The stamp isn't added in both-cameras mode.

On a company account, an admin decides what the stamp shows for the whole crew. It records what the phone reports at the moment of the shot. It's a record of the job, not a legal certificate, and we don't call it one.

Mark it up while the light's on

Right after you take a photo into a job, a small EDIT thumbnail sits in the corner for a few seconds. Tap it to draw numbered arrows and circles, with the light still on, or ignore it and keep shooting. Add text labels, pick from five colours, and write what each number means. The report draws the marks and lists what each number means under the photo. The original photo is never changed.

Before and after. Pick two photos in a job and pair them. In the full report each pair gets its own page, Before above After at the same size, each with its time, note and marks.

Reports your client can read

One tap turns a job into a PDF report under your company name: your logo, contact details and licence, and a permanent report number that is also the file name. Each photo prints with its date, time, note and marks, and can carry a status such as Repair, Monitor or Done. There's a summary page, a closing page you write once, a summary-only version, a preview before you send, and US Letter or A4 paper. One small “Generated with InspectCam” line goes on the last page.

What a Pro report can include
PartWhat it does
Photo reportEvery photo with its date, time, note, marks and status, grouped by category.
Findings reportGroup photos into written findings, each with a title, a severity, what was seen, what it means and a recommendation. It prints in an inspection layout: a cover, a summary of findings, contents, a card per finding with numbered figures, and a scope and limitations page.
SignaturesHand the phone to the customer to sign a work authorization or a certificate of completion with a finger. The job keeps the wording as signed, with the name, date and time, and each document prints on its own page.
Scope of workWhat the job covers, with the contract or plans attached, printed near the front.
Before and afterA page per pair, Before above After.

The app records a signing; it doesn't certify it. Whether a signature meets your state's rules for a binding contract is a question for your own legal advice.

Templates for your trade

Start a job from a template that switches on the details, report sections and shot list your trade needs. Mark any detail or photo as required, add a short tip to each shot, and the job page shows what's still needed. Twelve come ready-made, and you can change them or build your own: general contractor and renovation, restoration, insurance adjuster, home inspection, mechanic and auto shop, cleaning, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, property manager (move-in and move-out), and draw inspection.

None of this connects to an insurer's, lender's or estimating system, and none of it is approved by one. It puts the job's details in one report you send yourself.

Your crew on the same jobs

On Team and Business, whoever buys the plan owns the company account and invites the crew with a short code. Members change their own work; admins can change anyone's, invite and remove people, and limit a member to chosen jobs. Report details, job statuses, stamp rules and report numbers are set once for the whole company, so report numbers never clash across the crew. Pro launches on Android, so for now everyone who joins needs an Android phone; the iPhone app is coming soon, with Pro included.

Your subs send photos straight in

On Team and Business, one tap on a job makes a QR code for each trade, plus one for the homeowner. Print one sheet for the site entrance, or text or email each trade a link. Your plumber or electrician sends before and after photos and short videos from their phone's browser, with no app and no account, straight into their own folder in your job.

Trades can sign in free to see the jobs they've sent photos to. Per job, you decide whether they can also see each other's photos: the “Show the whole job” switch is off unless you turn it on, and even then they never see your crew's photos, the client, the address, notes, prices, findings or reports.

Solo, Team and Business

The three Pro plans
PlanPeopleWhat it includes
Solo1Every Pro tool except the trade photo drop: jobs, the stamp, markup, reports, templates, signatures and cloud backup.
TeamUp to 3Everything in Solo, plus your crew on one company account and the trade photo drop.
BusinessUp to 8Everything in Team, for a bigger crew.

Pro runs inside the same InspectCam app on Android, and the iPhone app, coming soon, will include it. It needs an account, signed in with Google or an email link, and the stamp uses your phone's location if you allow it. Bigger companies can ask us about a custom plan. The price will be shown in Google Play.

Questions people ask

When can I get InspectCam Pro?

Pro is coming soon. The InspectCam camera, with the light already on, is free on Google Play for Android now, and Pro runs inside that same app.

Does Pro need an account?

Yes. Pro uses an account so your jobs can belong to your company and reach your crew. You sign in with Google or an email link, with no password, and you can delete the account, which removes its cloud records and files.

Can my subcontractors send photos without installing anything?

Yes, on Team and Business. Each trade gets a QR code or a link for the job, and sends photos and short videos from their phone's browser into their own folder in your job, with no app and no account.

Is the time and location stamp proof of when I was there?

The stamp shows the date, time, street address and GPS coordinates the phone reports when the photo is taken. It is a record, not a certificate, and we don't call it proof. Whether it settles a dispute is up to whoever you show it to.

What's the difference between Solo, Team and Business?

The number of people. Solo is one person with every Pro tool except the trade photo drop. Team covers up to 3 people and adds the crew account and the trade photo drop. Business covers up to 8.

Does everyone on my crew need an Android phone?

For now, yes. Pro launches in the Android app, so everyone who joins your company account at launch needs an Android phone. The iPhone app is coming soon, with Pro included from the start. Your subcontractors need neither: they send photos from any phone's browser.
