What "tested" means here
One rule governs this page, and it is worth stating plainly because almost no other compatibility page follows it.
A model appears in the table only when it has been physically connected to an Android phone, run, and observed — with a date and a screenshot recorded for that test.
No row is ever generated from a spec sheet, a manufacturer's claim, a customer report, or by inference from a similar model in the same product line.
The reason is not modesty. Auto-generated compatibility pages — one page per model, populated from a parts database — are a well-known spam pattern, and search engines classify them accordingly. A page like that would rank for nothing and would deserve to.
More importantly, it would be useless. The entire value of a compatibility list is that someone can trust a row enough to spend money on the hardware. One invented row destroys that for every other row on the page. An empty table with an honest explanation is worth more than a full table of guesses.
If your model isn't listed
It means nobody here has tested it — not that it doesn't work. Two things you can do:
- Tell us which scope you own. Email support@inspectcam.app with the brand, the exact model number, and whether it's USB or Wi-Fi. Models people actually own go to the front of the test queue.
- Work out whether it's a UVC device. Standard UVC scopes work with any competent Android viewer. Questions people ask
Why is the compatibility list empty?
Because no borescope has been tested yet. Borescope support is on the roadmap rather than in the app today, and we won't list a model we haven't physically connected and verified. The table structure is published so it's clear what will be recorded for each one.
Will my borescope work with Android?
If it's a standard UVC device and you have a data-capable cable and a phone with USB OTG, almost certainly. If it's a proprietary scope that demands a specific app, no third-party app can see it. The troubleshooting guide explains how to check which you have.
Do USB borescopes work with an iPhone?
No. Apple restricts external UVC camera support to iPads with USB-C connectors, so iPhones cannot read a USB borescope even with a USB-C port. Full explanation and Apple's own statement on the iPhone borescope page.
How do I get my scope added to the list?
Email the brand and exact model to support@inspectcam.app. There's no charge and no catch — knowing which models people actually own is what decides the testing order.
How often is this list updated?
Whenever a model is tested. Each row carries its own test date and the app version it was tested against, so you can see how current any individual entry is rather than trusting a single page-level date.
Scope not being detected?
Most failures aren't compatibility at all — they're a charge-only cable, USB OTG, or a permission prompt that got dismissed. The Android troubleshooting guide works through the causes in order of likelihood.
