How we look after personal information
Effective:
This page says who is responsible for personal information at InspectCam, how long we keep it, and how to ask or complain. Our privacy policy (inspectcam.app/privacy/) says what we collect, why, and who sees it.
Who is responsible
InspectCam is run by Zeek LLC. The person in charge of the protection of personal information is our Privacy Officer:
Privacy Officer, Zeek LLC, 12303 Cyrus Way, Suite 106, Mukilteo, WA 98275, United States; support@inspectcam.app.
The Privacy Officer approved the practices on this page.
Who does what
- The Privacy Officer decides what personal information we collect and why, approves any new use of it, answers requests and complaints, decides what to do if something goes wrong, and keeps our records.
- People who work for us can reach personal information only if they need it to run or support InspectCam. They must keep it confidential, and use it for nothing else.
- Our providers handle it for us. Those that keep a company's jobs and files do so under written contracts. The privacy policy names them.
- A company that uses Pro decides what goes into its jobs. We hold that for the company, as our Terms say. For a company that UK or Canadian data protection law applies to, our data processing terms (inspectcam.app/data-processing/) say how.
What we collect
What the privacy policy lists, for the reasons it gives.
How long we keep things
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Your account | While it exists. It is deleted when you delete your account. |
| A company's jobs, photos, videos and files | While the company has an account. A deleted job leaves our servers 7 days after it goes to the trash. |
| A company's files after its plan ends | 30 days to download. Then we delete them, about 60 days after the plan ends, and only after we have emailed the owner a warning. |
| Copies in our database backups | Up to 30 days |
| Logs of requests to our servers | Up to 30 days |
| Daily counts of use | Up to 90 days |
| The compatibility list's notes | Until 400 days after an install last sent any |
| Purchase records | As long as we need them for refunds, taxes and fraud checks |
| Emails you send us | As long as we need them to help you, and to keep a record of what was said |
| Questions and listings sent on our website | The form: up to 12 months |
The privacy policy has the full list. When the time is up, the information is deleted from our database and our file store, and it is gone from our backups within 30 days.
How to ask, and how to complain
- To see or correct your information: write to the Privacy Officer. We answer within 30 days (in the UK, within one month).
- To ask a question: write to the Privacy Officer.
- To complain about how we handle personal information: write to the Privacy Officer, by email or by mail. Say what happened and how to reach you. We look into it, and we tell you what we found and what we will do, without undue delay. In the UK, we also tell you within 30 days that we have your complaint.
- If it is about what a company put in its jobs, we pass your request to that company and help it answer.
If you are still unhappy, you can complain to a regulator:
- Canada: the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
- Quebec: the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
- Alberta and British Columbia: the province's Information and Privacy Commissioner.
- The UK: the Information Commission (the ICO) (ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or 0303 123 1113).
If something goes wrong
We have a written plan for a loss or leak of personal information. We stop it, find out what was affected, and tell the companies, the people and the regulators that the law says we must tell. We keep a record of every incident.
Review
The Privacy Officer reads these practices again whenever InspectCam changes how it handles personal information.
